ADDICTION PROJECT ON HBO

HBO's Addiction Project is a groundbreaking multi-media campaign to help Americans understand addiction as a treatable brain disease, spotlight new treatment advancements, and provide hope for long-term recovery. Although the series has finished airing on HBO, the 14-part series can be seen online.

TUNE INTO CONNECTICUT RENAISSANCE RADIO SHOW, a one-hour live radio show discussing mental health and substance abuse treatment. It airs twice a month on WICC 600 AM and past shows are archived on the website. Renaissance Hour features guest speakers and an opportunity for phone-in questions.

The media and drugs

This section will provide information on both positive and negative media with respect to substance use. By positive media, we mean media that presents useful/educational information about substance use, abuse and recovery. By negative media, we mean marketing of alcohol to undeage youth including portrayal of tobacco, alcohol and drugs in a positive light ("glamorizing") in visual, audio or print media.
