Local Implementation

Connecticut is a front-runner in the implementation of evidence-based treatment practices for youth. Evidence-based practices currently being delivered in Connecticut include motivational enhancement therapy/cognitive behavioral therapy (MET/CBT5 and MET/CBT12), Multi-Systemic Therapy (MST), Multidimensional Family Therapy (MDFT), and Functional Family Therapy (FFT). Providers will be able to discuss implementation issues with new practices with other agencies on the site's Message Board .

Training Costs

With few exceptions, agencies/programs must complete formal training (and certification) in a given evidence-based practice prior to delivering it to clients. Training requirements and costs vary widely by practice. Details on training and training materials are available at the National Registry of Evidence-Based Programs and Practices. Connecticut has developed local capacity to train in a variety of areas including the GAIN and MET/CBT. Refer to the section under Trainings at the left for further details.
